The pattern is written using UK terminology. 

You will need:
Oddments of DK white cotton for collar, I have used Rowan Handknit Cotton
Oddments of light Aran for tie, I have used Rowan Kid Classic
4mm (UK8, US G/6) crochet hook
5mm in length of sew on velcro
